A bespoke and fully custom CMS? No problem. However, the majority of clients and projects make use of an existing CMS framework, such as Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal or MODx. Although there are a lot of existing extensions and functionality for these CMS platforms, if custom functionality, modules or components are required - I develop and code those to ensure that the client gets exactly what they are wanting.

 

I also work with businesses and design agencies to re-design and optimise existing web sites to improve user performance, security and site maintainability - using key SEO (search engine optimisation) best practices to ensure that your site performs well with search engines.

Mobile Web Design

More and more people are leaving desktops and laptops behind and accessing the Internet from their smartphones and tablets. This trend is set to rapidly continue with forecasts of up to 11% of all Internet traffic in the UK expected to be from mobile devices by 2015.

It is more important than ever to develop websites that both support and complement these devices. Using HTML5, CSS3, Media Queries and Javascript, I can alter a website's appearance and user experience to fit the device. If you are not viewing this website on an iPhone or similar device already - have a go. Or simply narrow your browser window. This will emulate the reduced screen resolution of a mobile device. Go on. I insist. You'll understand what I am talking about.

iPhone/iPad/Mobile Applications

This is a relatively new venture for me - but I recognise the opportunity for businesses to reach customers directly on their mobile devices and am working with several clients to build 'Apps' for both Android and iOS platforms.

Using native device functionality is key and I am working both in Objective C and xCode, as well as Titanium Appcelerator, an application development framework with a bright future.

If you do not already have your domain name or hosting, I can help you through that process and get your domain set up and configured, including the set up of email addresses like yourname@yourdomain.com. I also offer hosting and management services, but only for sites that I have built.

You can't be online without knowing Google and in all likelihood you use their sites every day. However, they also offer services to businesses. Google Apps will improve your business performance, security and enhance collaboration and productivity.
